The Chicago White Sox (48-37) reached 11 games over .500 as they bested the Toronto Blue Jays (42-44) in Saturday's 2-0 win.
3B Kevin Youkilis continued his scalding-hot hitting since joining the White Sox via trade. With SS Alexei Ramirez on second base, Youk clobbered a 1-1 pitched in the bottom of the fifth inning to give the Sox the only runs of the game. SP Gavin Floyd (W, 7-8) earned the victory has he lasted 7.2 innings while striking out 3, walking 2 and allowing no runs. RP Matt Thornton (S, 2) faced the final four batters to close out the game.
SP Ricky Romero (L, 8-4) had another rough outing as he walked 3 batter, allowed the key home run and struck out only 2 in his 6.0 innings of work. The White Sox totaled only 4 hits against Toronto, three singles and Youk's homer, but the homer proved to be enough to give the Sox the win.
