White Sox Transactions: LHP Daniel Moskos Claimed From Pirates

The Chicago White Sox have reportedly acquired LHP Daniel Moskos from the Pittsburgh Pirates on waivers. The 26-year-old was pitching in relief for Pittsburgh's Triple-A affiliate and had accumulated 14.0 innings on the season with a 3.86 ERA and 3.56 FIP.

Moskos, who has been a reliever since the 2010 season, reached in the majors in 2011. He appeared in 31 games for the club, but struggled with his command, walking 9 while striking out only 11. Despite that, he maintained a strong 2.96 ERA and 3.23 FIP by limiting the home runs he allowed. So far this season in the minors, he has walked 8 while striking out 11.

Chicago recently released lefty RP Will Ohman after he proved ineffective through the first half of the year.
