Kevin Youkilis delivered a game-winning RBI single in the 10th inning to give the Chicago White Sox a 5-4 victory over the Texas Rangers at U.S. Cellular Field on Independence Day. Neither team scored after the third inning until Youkilis' walkoff hit gave the South Siders the victory. The White Sox move to 44-37 with the win, while Texas falls to 50-32.
The Sox scored all four of their regular runs in the second inning. Dayan Viciedo and Alexei Ramirez each ripped RBI singles in the inning and Gordon Beckham capped the frame by driving both in with a double to right.
Starter Dylan Axelrod was sound enough against the mighty Rangers lineup, allowing seven hits and four earned runs over 5.2 innings. The White Sox's bullpen held the Rangers scoreless from there.
