White Sox News: Will Ohman Released By Chicago

White Sox reliever Will Ohman was designated for assignment last week and on Tuesday the club decided to release him.

Ohman's overall numbers in 2012 are pretty bad -- he has a 6.41 ERA in 26-2/3 innings -- but the left-handed reliever got good results against left-handed hitters; lefties hit just .186/.250/.305 against him. Right-handed hitters hit him to the tune of .286/.375/.595, though.

Ohman was in his second season with the White Sox, and prior to that he spent time with the Cubs, Dodgers, Braves, Orioles and Marlins.
