Zack Greinke Rumors: White Sox Want Pitcher 'Badly'

The Chicago White Sox are among the teams most interested in Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Zack Greinke, and now FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal is reporting that the team wants him badly. The Rangers, Angels and Braves are also considered serious suitors for the pitcher's services.

Greinke, 28, is arguably the best pitcher on the trade market this summer. An impending free agent, the Brewers have tried to sign him to a long-term contract extension, but they've moved on to considering trades for the pitcher after an agreement couldn't be reached.

Over 21 starts this season, Greinke has a 3.44 ERA with 122 strikeouts and 28 walks in 123 innings of work. His peripheral statistics indicate that he's pitched better than his ERA would suggest, as his 2.50 FIP is the best mark among all qualified MLB pitchers.
