Gavin Floyd Injury: White Sox Pitcher Activated From DL, To Start Monday

The Chicago White Sox activated SP Gavin Floyd from the DL on Monday, slotting him directly into the rotation to square off against SP Francisco Liriano and the Minnesota Twins.

Floyd spent only a week on the DL with his right elbow tendinitis (as the 15-Day DL stint began retroactively), but he will be making his first start since July 7, when he threw 7 and 2/3 innings of shutout baseball against the Toronto Blue Jays. the 29-year-old Floyd has made 17 starts in the 2012 season, and owns a 4.54 ERA and 4.61 FIP through 103 innings.

The White Sox are still without the services of SP John Danks, but the recent addition of RP/SP Brett Myers should give them greater flexibility through the remainder of the season.
