The Chicago White Sox fell out of first place on Saturday after a 7-1 loss to the Detroit Tigers, but they can save a bit of face with a victory over Detroit on Sunday. A win over the Tigers would put the White Sox a half game over Detroit in the A.L. Central, which would at least allow them to exit the weekend where they were when it began.
On the mound for the White Sox will be Philip Humber, who will be making his second start since returning from the disabled list. His first start came this past Tuesday in Fenway Park, where he held the Boston Red Sox to only two earned runs in six innings. Humber has only faced the Tigers once as a member of the White Sox, but he has been significantly better away from home this season.
Chicago will be facing Tigers rookie Jacob Turner, who is still seeking his first career major league win. Turner made his second start of the season on Tuesday vs. the Los Angeles Angels and got shelled, giving up seven earned runs in two innings. In 19.2 career innings in the majors, Turner's ERA is 9.15.
Game date/time: Sunday, July 22, 12:05 p.m. CT
Location: Comerica Park, Detroit, Mich.
TV: CSN
