White Sox Roster Update: Chicago Acquires Brett Myers

With an AL Central division title a realistic possibility heading toward the trade deadline, the Chicago White Sox are doing all they can to make the push for the playoffs. The White Sox took the opportunity to boost their bullpen, as they have dealt for Brett Myers from the Houston Astros:

Myers has been excellent as the closer for the Astros, recording 19 saves in 21 chances this season. His save percentage ranks third in the NL, while his 19 saves are good for 6th in the NL. Myers spent the first eight years of his career in Philadelphia and has spent the past 2.5 seasons with the Astros. Myers also has experience as a starter, compiling an 89-79 record.
