Gavin Floyd Injury: Pitcher Set To Return On Monday

After receiving the good news that Jesse Crain would return to the bullpen this weekend, the White Sox received another boost to their pitching staff, as Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports that Gavin Floyd will return to the starting rotation on Monday:

@scottmerkin: Floyd gets the start Monday. Crain back today

Floyd has struggled with consistency this year, recording a 7-8 record with a 4.54 ERA. Floyd was placed on the disabled list on July 17, retroactive to July 8. This was the first trip to the DL for Floyd, who is battling elbow tendinitis. Prior to his trip to the DL, Floyd delivered an excellent performance in a win against the Toronto Blue Jays. Floyd pitched 7.2 shutout innings and allowed only four hits in a 2-0 win.
