In with on pitcher, out with another. The Chicago White Sox announced on Tuesday afternoon that SP Gavin Floyd is headed to the 15-day disabled list while SP Philip Humber has been reinstated from the disabled list.
Humber, who has not pitched since mid June, has struggled mightily since throwing a perfect game in his second start of the season. During his rehab stint, he made three appearances in the White Sox minor league system, most recently pitching six innings of 1-run ball for the team's Double-A affiliate.
Floyd, meanwhile, has been struggling with elbow tendinitis and soreness. He has not pitched since July 7, with SP Dylan Axelrod filling in for him in the Sox starting rotation.
