White Sox Vs. Royals Preview: Series Victory Up For Grabs In Rubber Match

Chicago White Sox starter Chris Sale hasn't started a game since he faced the Texas Rangers on July 3, but he'll finally get back on the mound on Sunday in Kansas City. The irony, of course, is that the last time Sale pitched in a game at all was in Kansas City for last week's All-Star Game, where he threw a scoreless inning in the American League's losing effort.

The Royals meanwhile will trot out Luis Mendoza, who's posted a 4.50 ERA and 1.53 WHIP on the season. Mendoza has faced the White Sox once this season, when he picked up the win on May 13 after allowing only a single run on seven hits in 5.2 innings pitched.

Game date/time: Sunday, July 15, 1:10 p.m. CT

Location: Kauffman Stadium, Kansas City, Mo.

TV: CSN
