White Sox Vs. Royals Final Score: Jake Peavy Struggles Late, Chicago Loses 6-3

The Chicago White Sox (48-39) could not pull out a close game late, allowing the Kansas City Royals (38-48) to get away with a 6-3 win Saturday night.

SP Jake Peavy (L, 7-6) held the Royals to just 3 runs through the first 6.0 innings, but in the 7th inning, SS Alcides Escobar launched a homer to give Kansas City a 4-3 lead. Then, in the 8th, Peavy allowed three straight singles to start the inning, and when RP Hector Santiago could not close out the inning cleanly, the Royals managed to stretch their advantage to 6-3.

1B Adam Dunn hit his 27th homer of the year in the top of the 6th inning, but he and CF Alejandro De Aza (2 for 5 with a double and triple) could not provide enough offense to keep the Sox undefeated since the All-Star Break.
