White Sox Vs. Royals: Can Jake Peavy Help Out A Taxed Bullpen On Saturday?

The Chicago White Sox pulled out a 9-8 win over the Kansas City Royals early on Saturday morning, but it wasn't easy. In a game that spanned 14 innings and nearly five and a half hours, the Sox and Royals used 18 combined pitchers -- the most ever in a White Sox game. After getting just five innings from starter Jose Quintana, Chicago used the following pitcher in relief: Brian Omogrosso, Matt Thornton, Nate Jones, Leyson Septimo, Jhan Martinez, Hector Santiago, Addison Reed and Dylan Axelrod.

With the bullpens taxed on both sides, starters Jake Peavy and Luke Hochevar will each be relied upon for strong starts on Saturday.

Game time/date: Saturday, July 14, 6:10 p.m. CT

Location: Kauffman Stadium, Kansas City, Mo.

TV: WGN
