White Sox Vs. Astros: Chicago Pitching Coach Says 'Thanks' To The Critics

After the 10-1 White Sox win over the Houston Astros, pitching coach Don Cooper shared some insights with the media about the struggles of SP Philip Humber and SP Gavin Floyd, saying the team expects improvements from the two otherwise proven starters:

"(Humber) and Gavin obviously have had some rough stretches," Cooper said. "We are trying to bring out them of their inconsistency. We've seen them good before and we know what it looks like.

"Everyone likes to pick out our issues or our weak points or things we need to improve. We are well aware of them. Thanks to everyone for telling us."

The Chicago White Sox currently sit atop the AL Central by a game and a half, but they have received little help of late from Floyd (5.68 ERA, 4.91 FIP) and Humber (5.70 ERA, 4.95 FIP).
