With John Danks slowly making his way back from the DL, the Chicago White Sox will have Jose Quintana on the mound Wednesday night as they host the Toronto Blue Jays. Coming off a frustrating 9-5 defeat on Tuesday, the White Sox could use a victory to hold off Cleveland, which plays Detroit on Wednesday, in the standings.
While Quintana hasn't gone deep into games yet this year, he's done a solid job of limiting runs while covering for Danks in Chicago's rotation. In two starts and two relief appearances, he's posted a 1.69 ERA with nine strikeouts and five walks over 16 innings. On May 30, his most recent start, he was ejected after 3.2 innings of one-hit ball for apparently throwing at Tampa Bay's Ben Zobrist.
After struggling to get to Blue Jays starter Ricky Romero early on Tuesday, the White Sox hope to fare better against another impressive young Jays hurler, Brandon Morrow. This season, Morrow has a 3.28 ERA over 68.2 innings with 62 strikeouts and 22 walks.
Game Time: 7:10 p.m. CDT
Location: U.S. Cellular Field, Chicago, IL
