After getting shutdown and shut out by Milwaukee Brewers starter Zack Greinke on Friday night, the Chicago White Sox's hitting came back in a major way on Saturday night, putting the team in a position to take the three game series with a victory on Sunday. They will put the ball in the hands of Jose Quintana, who has been stellar during his stint in the starting rotation.
Quintana has given up only three earned runs in 19.1 innings in his three starts since being moved back into Chicago's starting rotation. In his first two starts were, Quintana managed to keep runs off the board despite giving up 19 hits, but in his last start against the Los Angeles Dodgers, he gave up only five hits across eight innings while not giving up a run.
The White Sox will be facing Brewers starter Michael Fiers who is 2-2 on the season with a 3.21 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP. Today will only be Fiers' sixth start of the 2012 season, but so far this year he's been fantastic on the road, giving up only two earned runs in 14 innings away from Miller Park.
