Chicago White Sox Place RHP Philip Humber On DL, Recall Brian Bruney From Triple-A

Philip Humber has struggled since throwing a perfect game on April 21 against the Seattle Mariners, and now the 29-year old right-handed pitcher is heading to the 15-day disabled list. As Humber nurses a right elbow flexor strain, the Chicago White Sox are recalling righty Brian Bruney from the Triple-A Charlotte Knights.

Humber exits with a 3-4 record and a 6.01 ERA and 1.49 WHIP. He won his last start on June 16 against the Los Angeles Dodgers when he allowed nine hits and four runs over five innings during a 5-4 Chicago victory.

Bruney is 1-3 for the Knights with a 1.85 ERA and 11 saves.

The White Sox are set to host the Milwaukee Brewers this weekend in a three-game interleague series at U.S. Cellular Field.
