Zach Stewart Will Start For White Sox On Monday

John Danks had hoped to return to the White Sox rotation on Monday, but with soreness postponing that return, the Sox have had to look elsewhere. So Zach Stewart will get the ball for the first game of a series against the Cubs.

Stewart, who gave up a couple of home runs in a mop-up outing at Wrigley, said he’ll go as long as needed, but manager Robin Ventura is prepared to go to a bullpen that will have starter Philip Humber in it — for one day.

"I feel like I’m in pretty good shape,’’ Stewart said. "They haven’t talked about a plan, but I’m willing to go as deep as they want me to go.’’
