Chicago White Sox third baseman Brent Morel has been scratched from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cleveland Indians, as the team announced. Back-up infielder Eduardo Escobar is starting in Morel's place, playing third base and batting ninth for the Pale Hose.

Morel has struggled badly this season, hitting just .172 with a terrible .206 on-base percentage and zero homers through 93 plate appearances. It's unclear how much the back injury has been impacting his ability to perform, but he's now got a .231/.272/.343 line through 571 career PA's.
