The Chicago White Sox placed struggling left-hander John Danks on the 15-day disabled list on Friday with a bum shoulder. Danks has already missed one start with the injury, which was filled admirably by Jose Quintana, a 23-year old lefty out of Columbia. In his start on May 7, Quintana allowed just one hit and no earned runs in 5.2 innings against the Cleveland Indians.
Before the Sox began a wild game against Cleveland on Saturday, manager Robin Ventura announced Quintana would likely soon make his second start in Danks' absence.
"It seems that way, I don’t know if it’s automatic," Ventura said on Saturday. "He pitched well. I think we’ll look at that and how it lines up."
"You definitely look at it, but right now it looks like it could be that way," Ventura said.
