With injuries to both Geovany Soto and Welington Castillo, the Chicago Cubs were very limited by their options at the catcher position. In an effort to fill that need, Chicago picked up Koyie Hill from the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for cash considerations.
Hill will make his debut in the starting lineup today against the Chicago White Sox. Hill spent 2007-2011 with the Cubs organization. He had the best year of his career in 2009, when he hit two home runs and drove in 24 RBI's in 83 appearances. Hill has spent the beginning of this season with the Pensacola Blue Wahoos at the Double A level.
