Tigers Vs. White Sox Preview: Jake Peavy Tries To Give South Siders Back-To-Back Wins

The Chicago White Sox will turn to veteran starter Jake Peavy as Chicago tries to sweep the Detroit Tigers in a two-game series on Tuesday night at U.S. Cellular Field. The Sox were down 5-2 in the fifth inning on Monday, but left fielder Dayan Viciedo drove in four runs to power the 7-5 comeback victory.

Peavy has been excellent thus far for the South Siders. The 30-year old righty enters Tuesday with a 4-1 record, 1.89 ERA and 0.80 WHIP. Peavy earned a no decision in his only start this year against the Tigers, a May 4 outing in which he allowed just three runs over 7.2 innings.

Detroit will counter on the mound with Max Scherzer. The 27-year old righty is 2-3 with a 5.73 ERA and 1.62 WHIP.
