White Sox Vs. Athletics Score Update: Scoreless Tie After Five Innings

The Chicago White Sox and Oakland Athletics are knotted up in a scoreless tie after five innings of play on Wednesday afternoon. A pair of young starting pitchers have been dueling all day, going back and forth with scoreless frames.

Chris Sale has been lights out for Chicago so far, giving up three hits and zero walks over five shutout innings while striking out four batters. Oakland's Jarrod Parker, acquired in the Trevor Cahill trade from Arizona, has been nearly as good, giving up four hits and a walk while striking out five.

Paul Konerko leads the Sox so far with a pair of singles and Alex Rios has a double, but the hits have added up at the right times. The A's didn't get a runner to second base until the fifth inning, but Sale got out of the jam.
