White Sox Vs. Tigers Update: Chicago Drops Series-Finale

The Chicago White Sox saw their four-game winning streak come to an end in the finale of their series against the Detroit Tigers, as the Tigers prevented the sweep with a 5-2 victory. With the loss, the White Sox dropped a 1/2 game behind the Tigers in the Central Division.

Chris Sale was solid in his first loss of the season, allowing three earned runs in five innings on the mound. However, the White Sox had no answer for Rick Porcello, who picked up his first win of the season. Porcello allowed only one earned run and five hits in 7 2/3 innings.

Prince Fielder continued his strong start to the season for the Tigers, batting 2/5 and driving in his fifth run of the season. Fielder is hitting .353 over the first nine games for Detroit. A.J. Pierzynski and Dayan Viciedo each drove in a run for Chicago in the loss.
