The Cleveland Indians are a franchise that many see as trending up while the Chicago White Sox are generally seen as trending down, but the Southsiders can make an early statement about how the 2012 season may go with a second straight win in Cleveland on Wednesday. After the Sox took the first game of the series by the score of 4-2, the teams were supposed to continue divisional play last night, but the game was postponed thanks to rain and has yet to be rescheduled.
Each team's ace will take the mound on Wednesday, as Justin Masterson will face off against John Danks. Masterson was brilliant in his season debut vs. the Toronto Blue Jays, allowing only two hits over eight innings while striking out 10. He also dominated the White Sox in 2011, posting a 1.61 ERA in 28 innings pitched across four starts. Danks, meanwhile, is coming off of a solid but unspectacular start in the very unfriendly confines of the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. In only one outing vs. the Indians in 2011, Danks gave up two earned runs in six innings and struck out eight.
Game date/time: Wednesday, April 11, 11:05 a.m. CT
Location: Progressive Field, Cleveland, Ohio
TV: CSN Chicago
