Chicago White Sox Spring Training 2012: White Sox Log First Win Of Spring, Downing Texas Rangers 6-3

Chicago got off to a fast start, scoring three runs in the top half of the first and went on to defeat the reigning American League pennant winners by a score of 6-3 in a spring training game played in Surprise, Ariz.

Adam Dunn belted a home run with two on in the first to get the White Sox off to a quick three-run lead. Second-baseman Gordon Beckham added a two-run shot in the fourth to extend the Chicago advantage to five runs. Both teams recorded seven hits for the game. Texas pushed across two lone runs in the eighth and ninth to close out the scoring.

Hector Santiago started the game for Chicago, going the first two innings and giving up no runs on two hits and striking out three. Neftali Feliz, who the Rangers are trying to convert into a starter this season, opened the game for Texas and got rocked for three runs on three hits in the opening frame.

With their first win of the spring, the White Sox are now 1-3, while Texas dropped to 2-3 in Cactus League action.

The White Sox will host their North Side National League rivals in Phoenix on Friday.
