Opening Day is nearly upon us and the Chicago White Sox are making their final roster moves to solidify their April depth chart.
On Saturday, the Sox optioned right-handed pitcher Dylan Axelrod to Class AAA Charlotte, according to the team's official Twitter feed. Axelrod made his major-league debut with the White Sox in September of 2011 and ended up appearing in four games, including three starts. He owns a major league record of 1-0 with a 2.89 ERA in 18.2 IP.
The White Sox also reassigned five others to the minor leagues. RHP Brian Bruney, LHP Leyson Septimo, LHP Eric Stults, catcher Hector Gimenez and infielder Rey Olmedo were all given minor league assignments.
