White Sox Vs. Padres Final Score: Chicago Drops Another Game, 6-3

After dumping off some notable veterans over the offseason, as well as one experienced manager, the Chicago White Sox haven't exactly gotten off to a great start this spring. They dropped to 2-8 in Cactus League play this year with a 6-3 loss against the San Diego Padres on Tuesday.

Chicago actually led 3-1 through four innings, but the bullpen quickly gave up the advantage after relieving starting pitcher Gavin Floyd. Floyd, a major target of trade rumors recently, allowed just one run on five hits over his four innings of work, striking out five hitters while walking zero.

Charlie Leesman came in to relieve Floyd and failed to get a single out, though, surrendering four runs before Jhan Marinez would replace him and end the inning. San Diego got a shaky outing from starter Edinson Volquez, who gave up two runs in three innings, but its bullpen did a good job of limiting the White Sox offense.

Playing shortstop, Brent Lillibridge had a strong game at the plate for Chicago, going 2-for-2 with a double, a walk and a run scored, but he also committed an error in the field. The Padres got three hits from catcher Nick Hundley to lead the way, with first baseman Jesus Guzman and Jaff Decker adding two hits apiece.
