Sox Struggles in Toronto Continue, Lose Series Finale to Blue Jays

The city of Toronto is considered a beautiful city by many. Very clean, great restaurants, and plenty to see and do. The White Sox are happy they only have to go to Toronto once or twice a season. After Sundays loss the Sox are 3-15 in Toronto since 2007.

The Sox (24-31) came in to Sunday’s finale hoping for a series split and a quality outing by John Danks. They ended up with neither after the Blue Jays scored six in the first inning with the big blow a grand slam by Aaron Hill.

Danks fell to 0-8 on the season after Sunday’s loss. The game really never got close after the first inning. The Blue Jays (27-26) rocked Danks for nine runs on nine hits in just four innings.

Ricky Romero earned the win for the Blue Jays. Romero started off slow getting hit hard, but thanks to some great defensive plays gave up little damage as the lefty went seven innings and gave up two runs on just six hits. Romero improved to 5-4 on the season.

The Sox now head to Boston to conclude their ten game road trip with a three game series beginning Monday evening at Fenway Park.
