White Sox Crush Dodgers 9-2

After an extremely difficult loss Friday Night, the White Sox bounced back nicely with a 9-2 victory over the Dodgers Saturday afternoon at US Cellular Field. Mark Buehrle continued his dominant interleague play, improving his record to 24-6 overall. With this victory Buehrle passed Jamie Moyer for the most interleague wins of all time.

The left hander went seven strong innings allowing only two runs on seven hits improving his record to 4-3 on the season. Alexei Ramirez,A.J. Pierzynski, and Paul Konerko each had three hits for the Sox while Alex Rios and Brent Lillibridge hit two run homers. Lillibridge was a last-minute addition to the lineup after Carlos Quentin was scratched because of a bruised knee.

Jon Garland’s return to the South side wasn’t a pleasant one. Garland couldn’t make it out of the fourth inning and gave up seven run on eleven hits in his first start at US Cellular Field since leaving the Sox. The righty fell to 1-4 on the season and raised his ERA to 4.75.

The rubber match of the three-game series is Sunday afternoon.
