The Chicago Fire are currently sitting in fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings with a 6-5-3 record after beating the New York Red Bulls on Sunday night. That was the first match for the club since the recent hiatus caused by the Euro 2012 tournament.
With Columbus taking a draw in its first match since the extended break, Chicago is now in sole possession of fourth place in the standings. The Fire are still nine points behind first-place D.C. United in the standings, though, as they've won four consecutive matches to maintain their place atop the mountain.
