Fire Vs. Timbers Final Score: Own-Goal Results In 2-1 Defeat For Chicago

The Chicago Fire could head into Sunday's game against the Portland Timbers relatively confident of pulling out a victory -- the Timbers, after all, had won just two games all season and sat in last place in the Western Conference.

But Portland struck first, on a goal by Eric Brunner 20 minutes in. Jalil Anibaba netted the equalizer for the Fire later in the half, and at halftime, the score was even at one. Then misfortune struck the Fire, as Logan Pause scored an own goal at the 52-minute mark. That goal would prove decisive.
