The Chicago Fire weren't in action on Sunday, but they locked down a spot in the MLS Playoffs thanks to Sporting Kansas City's 1-1 tie with Columbus. They're just the second MLS Eastern Conference team to clinch a playoff berth, behind Kansas City. Sitting at 17-10-5 with 56 points on the season, the Fire still don't know whether they'll win the East, or finish as low as fourth in the standings.

There are four teams remaining in contention for the East's final two playoff berths, as noted by the Chicago Tribune. Sitting just three points behind first-place Kansas City, the Fire could take first place in the conference with a pair of wins in their final two games, with some help, of course.

As it stands, they're the No. 2 seed, and would take on D.C. United in the opener of a two-game home-and-home had the playoffs started on Monday. The Fire will have postseason tickets for groups on sale on Monday, and season ticket holders have until Oct. 15 to secure seating. Individual tickets will be on sale Oct. 19.
