Chicago Fire To Begin MLS Season In March For First Time In Team History

It's winter and you may be more focused on the Bears, Bulls and Blackhawks as the calendar winds down 2010, but today, the MLS Chicago Fire announced that they'll be hosting a home game during the month of March for the first time -- even earlier than the Cubs will open their season at home on April 1 or the White Sox home opener on April 7.

The Fire will host Kansas City at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, a week after playing their first game of the season at Dallas, Saturday, March 19 at 7:30 p.m.

The only other games announced as of now are two matches involving the opening of new soccer stadiums, on April 14 at Portland and on June 9 at Kansas City. The entire Fire schedule will feature 34 games, two matches each against each of the other 17 MLS teams.
