Anthony Rizzo Injury: Cubs 1B Leaves Game After Collision

Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo left Tuesday night's game against the Cubs after colliding with Houston Astros first baseman Brett Wallace. Despite being launched into the air and falling hard on his right shoulder, the Chicago Tribune's Paul Sullivan reported after the game that Rizzo is feeling fine.

In the third inning of the game, Rizzo hit a grounder to second base, but Jimmy Paredes' throw was high, forcing Wallace to leap for the ball. In the process, Wallace's right leg swung around and clipped Rizzo. Rizzo, in turn, landed awkwardly on first base, planting a fully extended left leg on the base, which catapulted him into the air. He landed hard on his right shoulder, a few feet from the bag.

Chicago's trainers worked on him for a few minutes, but he left under his own power. Here is video of the play:

There has been no indication yet from the Cubs how much time -- if any -- Rizzo will miss, but that information should be coming soon.
