A pair of Chicago Cubs minor leaguers were honored Friday as the Cubs named SS Javier Baez and LHP Brooks Raley the minor league players of the month:

#Cubs today named@peoriachiefs SS Javier Baez and@iowacubs LHP Brooks Raley as minor league player and pitcher of the month for July.
Baez, 19, was the Cubs' first round round selection in the 2011 MLB draft. In the 2012 season, Baez has accumulated 231 PA with a .330/.381/.584 slash and 11 homers and 19 steals.
Raley, 24, is pitching in Triple-A for the first time in his minor league career. The lefty has a 3.62 ERA and 3.76 FIP through 82 innings pitched.
