Cubs Release Arizona Fall League Roster, Jorge Soler Not On It

The Arizona Fall League is just around the corner, running from early October to just before Thanksgiving, and the Chicago Cubs have named their seven representatives for the roster. Patrick Mooney of CSN Chicago had the list of the players, along with the note that Jorge Soler is not among the prospects that will be representing the team. Soler is one of the best prospect in the farming system, and he is eligible as the team is allowed to designate two Class-A players.

The full list includes OF Matt Szczur, INF Javier Baez, INF Rubi Silva, RHP Dae-Eun Rhee, RHP Nick Struck, RHP Tony Zych, RHP Kevin Rhoderick and LHP Zach Rosscup. All but Baez are from Double-A Tennessee. Baez is from Single-A Daytona.

This will be the 20th anniversary of the Arizona Fall League. It promises to be an exciting one, as 24 players on MLB.com's Top 100 Prospect list are currently set to be on the rosters that were announced on Wednesday. The Cubs will be represented on the Mesa Solar Sox AFL team.
