Justin Germano allowed five earned runs over five innings in the start as the Cubs fell to the Brewers 15-4 at Wrigley Field on Monday night.
An RBI-single from Starlin Castro capped a three-run third for the Cubs, giving them a 3-1 lead after three innings, but the Brewers scored three in the top of the fifth and didn't trail the rest of the night.
The Cubs trailed 6-4 entering the ninth inning, but a dreadful nine-run ninth blew the game open for Milwaukee. Alex Hinshaw gave up five runs, including three home runs, without recording an out, while Lendy Castillo gave up four runs while recording two outs.
Castro went 1-for-4, while Brett Jackson went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two walks.
