After a two-month sage that included a trade to the Atlanta Braves that never was, Chicago Cubs veteran SP Ryan Dempster has been traded to the Texas Rangers. According to multiple sources, the Texas Rangers will be sending the Cubs a pair of prospects from Class-A, 3B Christian Villanueva and RHP Kyle Hendricks:

Villaneuva, 21, has a strong .285/.356/.421 slash with 10 homers through 425 PA in High-A and was rated the No. 10 Rangers prospect -- in a deep Rangers farm system -- heading into the 2012 season.
Hendricks, 22, has been lights-out in through 20 starts in High-A, striking out 21.6 percent of the batters he's faced while walking only 2.9 percent. He currently sports a 2.82 ERA and 2.76 FIP.
