Chicago Cubs manager Dale Sveum says he's been told by the team's front office that there is no deal in place that would send starter Ryan Dempster to the Atlanta Braves. The Cubs are not merely waiting for Dempster's approval.
Sveum: Front office said there was no agreement with Atl for Demp. NOT a matter of deal awaiting his approval.

Sveum: "The Twitter, the Facebook, the things that get produced and published that aren't true is just off the charts."

Sveum called the reported trade agreement a "fabrication," while Cubs assistant GM Randy Bush addressed the rumors by saying simply, "there's nothing to report."
