The Chicago Cubs have generally been playing good baseball over the last few weeks, but in the weekend series against St. Louis they just completed, they looked more like the club that has struggled for much of the season.

Chicago's road trip continues on Monday with a three-game series against the first place Pittsburgh Pirates, who have won five games in a row. The Cubs, meanwhile, will be trying to end a three-game losing streak.
Jeff Samardzija (6-8, 4.57 ERA) will be on the mound for the first game of the series, and Pittsburgh is going with Erik Bedard (5-10, 4.55).
