2012 MLB Mock Draft: Almora To The Cubs, In MLB.com's Mock

If there's fire where there is smoke, then Miami high school centerfielder Albert Almora will be a member of the Chicago Cubs come the 2012 MLB Draft. Almora has been heavily connected to the Cubs in recent weeks, and in his newest mock draft for MLB.com, Jonathan Mayo sees the Cubs tabbing Almora with the No. 6 overall pick.

Almora is a consensus top-10 prospect in this draft class, although some see him as a top-5 talent or even higher. Of course, Almora could be gone by the time the Cubs are on the clock, but if he is there, most expect them to take him.

Here is Mayo on his prediction:

6. Chicago Cubs: Albert Almora, OF, Mater Academy (Fla.)
The talk remains around three: Almora, a toolsy outfielder, [Carlos] Correa, a high school shortstop, and [Max] Fried, a prep left-hander.
