The rosters for the 2012 MLB Futures Game were announced on Thursday. Right fielder Jae-Hoon Ha will be the lone representative of the Chicago Cubs when the game gets underway on Sunday, July 8 during the MLB's All-Star weekend festivities.
Ha is hitting .256 with two homers, 20 RBI and five stolen bases this season for the Double-A Tennessee Smokies of the Southern League in 66 games and 258 at-bats. While the numbers are far from mind-blowing, Cubs brass still thinks very highly of the South Korea native.
Here's what outfield coach Dave McKay had to say about Ha in Spring Training.
"He has great speed, a great feel on the bases," McKay said of Ha, who is playing for Double-A Tennessee this year. "Sometimes you have guys who have speed and a lot of talent but they don't have that feel. The instincts aren't there and the harder they try, the more mistakes they make. [Ha] has got good instincts.
