The Chicago Cubs (18-34) have another losing streak going after the San Francisco Giants (29-24) eked out a 2-1 win Saturday night.
Chicago got on the scoreboard first when RF David DeJesus powered his second home run of the season to center field. LF Alfonso Soriano followed up with a double to right field, but that would be the Cubs' last extra base hit for the game.
SP Matt Garza pitched well, striking out 6 while walking 1, but the 1 walk proved crucial as it came against 1B Aubrey Huff, scoring the tying run. 3B Joaquin Arias then hit an RBI ground out for a 2-1 Giants lead. The one-run margin proved enough for the win as the Cubs offense matched their unis in the Deadball Era throwback classic:
