Cubs Vs. White Sox Preview: Jake Peavy Faces Travis Wood

The Chicago White Sox will turn to veteran righty Jake Peavy to try to stop a losing streak that just reached five in six games on Tuesday night when the South Siders host the Chicago Cubs. The North Siders took the series opener 12-3 by clubbing five home runs on Monday. Peavy will be opposed by Cubs starter Travis Wood.

Peavy continues to be a pleasant surprise for the Sox. He enters at 6-2 with a 2.91 ERA and 0.97 WHIP. He earned a loss in his last start, but only allowed four hits and one run over seven innings against the St. Louis Cardinals on May 13.

Wood, a 25- year old lefty, is 0-3 with a 4.58 ERA and 1.25 WHIP. He pitched well in his last start, but earned a loss to the Detroit Tigers after surrendering three runs and eight hits in 6.2 innings on June 14.
