Red Sox Vs. Cubs Final Score: Boston Defeats North Siders, 4-3

The Chicago Cubs made a valiant comeback against the Boston Red Sox on Saturday after trailing 4-0 when they stepped to the plate in the seventh inning, but the effort wasn't enough as the Cubs fell 4-3 at the hands of the Red Sox.

After four scoreless innings, Boston broke loose for a pair of runs in the top of the fourth inning thanks to Jarrod Saltalmacchia's two-run blast to right field. In the sixth inning, Will Middlebrooks scored in David Ortiz and Saltalmacchia with a single to shallow right field.

Luis Valbuena sent a three-run shot in the seventh inning , but there was no more offense to follow that. The Cubs and Red Sox will meet for the rubber match on Sunday to decide which team takes the weekend interleague series.
