The Chicago Cubs knocked off the Boston Red Sox in Friday's series opener thanks to a sparkling performance by Ryan Dempster, and on Saturday Jeff Samardzija has the chance to turn it into a winning streak for the Cubs. The 27-year-old righty suffered through a disappointing outing in his last start -- he gave up nine hits and eight earned runs over just 3.2 innings on June 9 against the Minnesota Twins -- but Samardzija has been lights out at Wrigley Field in 2012. He owns a 1.96 ERA and 0.93 WHIP over 36.2 innings in home starts this season, so the Cubs have to feel good about their chances on Saturday. The Red Sox will counter with Jon Lester (3-4, 4.57 ERA).
