Red Sox Vs. Cubs Score Update: North Siders Lead 3-0 Through 5 Innings

The Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox are playing the first of a three-game series on Friday at Wrigley Field. This is, understandably, a pretty big deal. Through five innings of Game 1, the Cubs are leading 3-0.

Catcher Steve Clevenger got Chicago started in the first when he doubled to left to score Tony Campana and Alfonso Soriano. It brings Clevenger's RBI total up to eight on the season. Chicago added another run in the second when David DeJesus singled to right to score starting pitching Ryan Dempster.

That's where we stand through five, with starters Dempster and Daisuke Matsuzaka still going. Dempster has allowed just two hits so far while striking out three.
