Rafael Dolis replaced a struggling Carlos Marmol in the closer role and picked up the save without running into too much trouble. After getting the first two batters of the inning, Dolis hit A.J. Ellis to put the tying run aboard, but the next batter flew out to end the game.

At the plate for the Cubs, David DeJesus was 3-4 with a walk and Alfonso Soriano went 3-3 with a walk.
