The Chicago Cubs (15-30) are looking to break a 2-2 heading into the seventh inning against the Pittsburgh Pirates (21-24).
SP Paul Maholm pitched 5 innings, allowing only 2 ER, but he struck out only 2 batters while walking 5 -- including 1 intentional walk. Meanwhile, SP Kevin Correia has limited the Cubs to 2 ER despite allowing five hits, including LF Alfonso Soriano's fifth homer of the season.
SS Starlin Castro and RF David DeJesus also have extra base hits to their credit as DeJesus doubled and came home on the subsequent Castro triple in the fifth inning to tie the game at 2-2. LR Casey Coleman pitched a quiet bottom of the sixth, and not the Cubs hitters return to the box looking for the go-ahead run.
